8M ISLAND BUILT™ | StayIrie™ is a crossover lifestyle brand. Through art and fashion, it's a fusion of Island and Mainland lifestyles inspired by island, reggae, and hip-hop cultures. When Islanders move to da mainland or vice versa, both lifestyles are fused and embedded within.

8M™ represents da best of both worlds. '8' is da number of Islands in da Hawaiian Chain and 'M' is simply for da Mainland.

DA MOTIVE

Owner/Creator Bernard Madriaga is Island Rooted. He was born in Hawaii, moved to the Mainland (Oxnard, CA) in 1984 at the age of 7 and grew up there ever since. He started the 8M ISLAND BUILT (8MIB) brand to express his thoughts and feelings through art and fashion of the Island lifestyle that he missed out on while growing up on the mainland. He started the brand with a vision to honor and respect his family and relatives who he misses and loves so much back home in Hawaii but could not be around to grow up and kick it with as a child, although he may not recognize a few faces here and there... It’s all for the LOVE. It’s what’s important to him…OHANA (Family). He's a VERY shy and quiet person and it may take some time to get him comfortable talking, but even if that, he still may be shy and quiet. He likes to keep to himself and just do him. He lets his art and/designs express who he is. Even if you don't know him... he dedicates his art, his brand to his Family, Relatives, Friends and Supporters.
